California-based designer Melody Ehsani has linked with Brooklyn-based illustrated t-shirt label DeerDana (made up of Dana Veraldi and Kevin Tekinel) on a shirt that states quite plainly how many feel about Donald Trump as U.S. president. As described by Ehsani, as “the perfect attire for the next four years.”
It’s an understandable sentiment not only because he lost the popular vote by close to three million voters, but also because of the racist and sexist statements he made throughout the campaign. He also tapped a vice president and cabinet members that can only be described as scary in terms of the the beliefs they hold.
Streetwear designers hold a lot of cultural influence and it’s great to see well known members of the community take a stand. Hopefully, they will be joined by more.
