Wearing baggy jeans and backed by Vans wearing dancers, Bay area chanteuse Kehlani last night (January 26) performed her single “CRZY” on Jimmy Kimmel, an appearance that was followed by the release of her much anticipated album #SWEETSEXYSAVAGE. Featuring 18 songs, it is as Genius (click link for lyrics) says, “No features, all bops.”
For our 2016 Snobby single awards, Kehlani took the No. 3 spot for “Distraction” and was widely praised by our panel. Not long ago at recent promotional event for Kiehls in New York, we saw the down-to-earth appeal of this artist up close and personal, as she mingled in the crowd by herself sans entourage prior to her engaging performance.
We say this all to say, in the coming year she will be supporting #SWEETSEXYSAVAGE with a global tour and given her talent and already very dedicated fan base, we have to think a year from now she will be in a very different place in terms of fame and ability to move freely.
