Italian fashion designer Fausto Puglisi has partnered with online retailer Yoox to launch two cotton yukatas (the summer version of a kimono). In speaking to press about the pieces Puglisi said, “I’ve created a Westernized form of the classic kimono, combining pop style and sophistication. It should be worn with fun and attitude, paired with a summer dress or jeans and sneakers.”
Handmade in Japan, the collection is limited to 50 kimonos per color. “My prints are inspired by the landscape of my home. They tell the story of my Mediterranean roots. It’s sun, sun, sun everywhere! I also couldn’t resist palm trees, my current pop obsession,” said Puglisi explaining the inspiration for the graphics.
Priced at $465, the Puglisi’s yukatas launched on June 29, 2017 and are available on yoox.com.
