Atlantic Records-signed Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) has released a visual for “Truth Hurts,” an upbeat single from her debut “Coconut Oil” EP that advocates for staying focused on one’s own greatness when dealing with disappointing behavior from intimate partners.
Opening with the line, “I just took a DNA test, turns out, I’m 100 percent that bitch,” Lizzo plays the role of a bride, celebrating her wedding day, an event that ends with a twist on her partner choice.
On a fashion tip, Lizzo’s gown was designed by Seth Pratt and styled by Brooke Candy.
