A first look at an up-and-coming pair of Nike Lunar Force 1 Sky Hi kicks. These come via blogger MissKeckley’s Ig account. According to her post this new silhouette, featuring an Air Force 1 upper with a charm and strap detail, will hit retail Autumn 2014. It appears the wedge on this style also is new, a modification on the Lunar-inspired wedge, which was launched with a City Pack earlier this year. The Lunar-esque ridges on the sole are still there but they’re not as prominent and definitely the stitching is different, mimicking as it does an Ar Force 1.
It’s good to see that Nike is spending some time developing wedge silhouettes for women. One has to wonder whether at least for the foreseeable future, Nike will focus on this Lunar-inspired wedge and leave behind the hidden wedge it initially launched the category with. Or maybe it will continue to do both, depending on the retailer. Definitely Nike has come a long way with wedge sneakers since they first arrived on the scene in Autumn 2012.
