Virgil Abloh visited Harvard College’s Graduate School of Design and told the students in attendance he wanted to provide them with “cheat codes” in an effort to ease their progress once they graduate.
On Ikea, Abloh said his first project was designing a living environment for millennials. Abloh said the “keep off” rug previewed last month would be priced “under $40.” He added that the collection would include a total of 30 pieces.
Abloh also went through the design ideas for his “The Ten” collaboration with Nike, talking through his process with slides and shoe samples and went on to explain the though process behind his spring 2018 collection that paid homage to Princess Diana.
He ended the lecture by going over his music video work, honing in on his efforts directing Lil Uzi’s “XO Tour Llif3,” a project shot in New York’s Mercer Hotel.
He finished with a question and answer period, which lead to a hilarious conclusion.
