Actress and Lolawolf member Zoë Kravitz has secured the cover for Elle magazine’s December 2017 issue. Shot by Paola Kudacki and styled by Samira Nasr, a newly-brunette Kravitz is achingly gorgeous, a level of attractiveness elevated in part because she comes across as not all that invested in her own appearance.
If you like Kravitz’s face you’re going to see plenty of it in the coming year. In addition to an upcoming Lolawolf album, Kravitz is working with Johnny Depp on a Harry Potter-franchise prequel film titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. She may also reprise her role on HBO’s highly popular mini-series “Big Little Lies,” if a second season comes to fruition.
Elle tapped Janelle Monáe to interview Kravitz, who discussed how her lack of TV shaped her thinking. We had a TV, but it wasn’t connected to anything except for a VCR,” said Kravitz. “My mom [Lisa Bonet] would go to the video store, and I was allowed to watch one movie a weekend. I was an only child, and your imagination goes crazy. These films kind of became my friends.”
She also weighed in speaking up in face of line steppers. “It’s good to be polite, but it’s important to be honest,” she explained. “There’s a difference between saying hurtful things and saying, ‘This may be a little uncomfortable, but no.’ Or ‘Please remove your hand from my lower back’ or ‘You made a weird joke. Why did you make that joke?’”
