On an Instagram post reflecting on character goals, Fear of God founder/designer Jerry Lorenzo took a moment in the comments to respond to a question about a possible restock of shoes he made in collaboration with Vans, a brand he’s been working with since 2016.
Lorenzo response indicates his relationship with Vans is over with 2018 marking the beginning of new efforts with Nike. “no more vans. swoosh for ’18,” he wrote in response.
As of yet, no product has been revealed though the Lorenzo partnership is very much in step with Nike’s efforts over the past year to grow its collaborative efforts among influencers, a plan epitomized by the brand’s successful effort with Off-White designer Virgil Abloh. It’s also created some fresh tailwinds for Converse through collaborative efforts with Tyler the Creator.
