Japanese label Ambush presented it first fashion show this week as part of Tokyo Fashion Week, an event sponsored by Amazon. (The event is actually called Amazon Fashion at Tokyo). The label included men’s and women’s items and was a cozy mix of outdoor and sport-influenced separates highlighted by brightly colored outerwear pieces. The collection’s big statement piece was an over-sized floppy beach hat adorned with sport-flavored lettering.
Prior to the event, Ambush created a t-shirt in collaboration with Amazon, which also was in the mix for the label’s party following the runway.
Designed by Seattle-born Yoon Ahn and run in partnership with her husband, Verbal, the label is known for its striking/punk-inspired accessory offerings. The label added apparel to the mix in 2017, the same year it was nominated for an LVMH prize.
