U.K. footwear brand Swear London taps Chicago-born model Jazzelle Zanaughtti for a collaboration centered around the brand’s Revive footwear style. Inspired by ’90s rave style, the sneakers have a futuristic edge consistent with Jazelle’s signature “Ugly Worldwide” look.
In press about the collection, the New York-based model explained the roots of her “Ugly Worldwide” alias and says, “Ugly Worldwide is a character that started its life in the 2D realm of my sketchbook over six years ago. Since then, I subconsciously grew to personify the character myself. It’s not just my alter-ego, but a manifestation of transformation, individuality and freedom.”
Zanaughtti further explained the choice for working with the Revive silhouette explaining “I fell in love with the Air Revive Collection because it combined a nostalgic ’90s feel with a striking futuristic design. They are a chunky yet sleek and really fit my style. I love how the transparent sole makes the wearer look like they are levitating.
“I stayed away from loud colors to make sure the strong silhouettes remain the main focus. I also wanted the shoes to go with any outfit, something I could wear any day, no matter how I feel.”
Look for the collection to launching on April 12, 2018 on swear-london.
