Newly-installed Burberry designer Riccardo Tisci is starting to make his mark on the label–literally–with the debut of a new logo for the label. Tisci tapped graphic artist Peter Saville for the updated graphic, the first time in 20 years the label has made such a change.
The bold new graphic features the initials ‘TF,” representing Thomas Burberry, who founded the label in Basingstoke, England in 1856.
Tisci uploaded the pattern to Instagram yesterday (August 2, 2018) with the hashtag #newera, reflective of his intent to make his mark on the brand. Tisci was announced at the label’s creative lead in March 2018.
Along with this new logo, Tisci is currently preparing to reveal his vision for the brand with a ready-to-wear debut scheduled for London Fashion Week in September 2018. Tisci takes the place of designer Christopher Bailey, who held creative roles at the label beginning in 2001.
The new logo will be featured across its various channels and will soon appear in advertising campaigns.
