Nicki Minaj visited Funk Flex’s show and not only buried the hatchet with the Hot 97 DJ, but also spilled major tea.
In the interview Flex addressed accusations Safaree wrote for her, a charge she vehemently and repeatedly denied. Flex agreed there is an industry double-standard whereby rap fans are less likely to believe women write their own raps, and Minaj added that Safaree took advantage of that belief to spread lies about her commitment to writing.
In discussing her relationship with Safaree, she confirmed rumors he had cheated on her and added he used her credit card without her permission to pay for prostitutes. (convo starts at 35:20).
After digging into her history starting with her Atlanta come up, the two spoke at length about “Barbie Dreams” and Minaj acknowledged the song was inspired by Biggie’s “Dreams” and also 50 Cent’s “How to Rob.”
Minaj went on to confirm that her “Barbie Dreams” bars about Meek Mill texting her are absolutely true. In an intriguing moment, she revealed that while she was still dating Nas, he told her Mill was still in love with her.
