Lil B releases a video for the single “No Black Person Is Ugly” from his soon to be launched Ultimate Bitch mixtape. True to form, the video features candid footage and highlights the beauty of diversity and everyday people. It’s a refreshing, other side of the coin switch up from the me-myself-and-I-am-the-greatest angle that rap culture has a tendancy to overwork. The music is also a tribute to ’90s era rap, which while in parts hard and gangster-themed was balanced by the yang of groups like De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest. Even the chorus “Sunshine, Sunshine” reminds of the Bill Ayers tune “Everybody Loves The Sunshine,” an r&b track that experienced a revival of popularity in the ’90s and was sampled by artists including Brand Nubian and P.M. Dawn.
