Sean Wotherspoon Creates Air Max 1 Sneaker With Tear-Away Corduroy Panels

Vintage shop owner Sean Wotherspoon has created an Air Max 1 featuring tear-away corduroy panels that reveal a blue and pink Liberty floral fabric when pulled off. For extra spice, the tongue features three Swooshes.

Only a total of two of these tear-away shoes were made. That said, Wotherspoon and Nike are planning another collaboration, which Wothrspoon previewed in September 2018.

Nike and Wotherspoon’s first collaborative shoe was a wildly-popular Air Max 1 and 97 hybrid shoe, marked by earth-toned corduroy panels. Their second collaborative shoe will work off of the same silhouette.

First peek at the second wave! Still early on the sample process, and there’s a lot that’s going to change! I’m thinking add some color to the sole, make that air bubble infrared, gotta change the sock liner to yellow, maybe a new color insole?!, fix the denim on the tabs, and do a gradient from light to dark blue instead of all light blue?!? What new patches should I include with this pair?! I couldn’t be happier holding these babies in my hand, can’t wait to see the final sample!
