Los Angeles-based designer Melody Ehsani today (October 26, 2018) announced plans for a Ms. Lauryn Hill collaborative capsule. On Instagram, Ehsani described offerings as “a playful collection of wearable art garments using those images to pay respect to 20 years of one of the most timeless and important albums to date.”
Ehsani is of course referencing the multi-Grammy-award winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, an album she describes as life changing.
Ehsani and Hill have formed an unique creative bond in recent years that includes Ehsani last year arranging Hill’s first professional photoshoot in over 20 years. Says Ehsani, “Over the course of the last few years, I’ve worked closely with Ms. Hill with the express intent to help execute some of her vision. Her genius traverses music into many other realms, including but not limited to fashion. Her attention to detail and thoughts and knowledge on fit, form, fabrications, fonts, down to the stitching were that of a veteran atelier owner. Working with her was a dream come true.”
As of now the timing for the capsule hasn’t been revealed but we’re betting it will launch at ComplexCon where Ehsani will have a booth and also participate in panel discussions.
