Balenciaga caused quite a stir with its spring 2018 runway presentation when it showed a platform clog made in collaboration with Crocs. For whatever reason, Crocs along with Ugg boots while widely popular really make some people angry and predictably, there were a lot of people upset by the collaboration.
To add to the anger, the eye-popping platform were festooned with an array of shoe charms aka Jibbitz. .
Unbothered by the push back, the collaborative platform clogs were made available for pre-order on Barneys today (February 1, 2018) where they sold out not long after they went live. Offered in pink and tan, the shoes were priced at $850.
While now sold out on Barneys, one can anticipate Balenciaga will also sell them in additional colors through the retailers that typically carry its more limited items, including Ssense, Matches, Dover Street Marcus Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, FarFetch and of course its own online and brick and mortar stores.
