For our very first installment of “Closet Raid,” we were inspired by the style of female DJs, in particular those who reside in New York City that we personally know and love.
By no means cookie cutter, each has their own delicious flavor, and yet they all speak to edge and forward vision aka the shape of things to come.
On that note, we can only hope that in addition to influencing style, their growing presence and influence might also mean more chances for female music voices to be heard and especially address the insane drought currently plaguing hip hop. One can dream.
