Converse has announced details on its popular collaboration with French label Mason Martin Margiela, with the newest “First String Collection” evolving the original white over paint concept with the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 and Jack Purcell silhouettes, both in soft, premium leather. One of the appeals of the collection is the reveal of color under the leather as the shoe is worn in. According to press:
“The more the Converse Maison Martin Margiela sneakers are worn, the more the overpaint loosens its hold, elegantly cracking to reveal the hidden, bold color. Original heritage colorways from the Converse archives are slowly revealed through four distinct styles: amber glow and true navy with the All Star Chuck ’70 and azure blue and biking bed with the Jack Purcell.”
The collection will be available for purchase globally on Friday, May 23rd at Converse stores, Converse and select retailers, priced at $250.
