Luxury sneaker designer John Buscemi finally launches a silhouette for women, the 100mm Alta, featuring a hidden wedge. It’s a significant shoe not only because it  is made specifically for women and beautifully designed, it’s also probably the only true luxury sneaker offering available for women, with Riccardo Tisci x Nike the only other one we can think of that is both lux and includes female sizing. Yes, Giusseppe and Celine offer sneakers but those are made more for the fashion girl who wants to add a pair of kicks to her wardrobe. The difference is that this a sneaker of the culture and in that respect it’s a game changer.  Available in white, red and black, the shoe features all the details Buscemi is known for including hand-painted edges, signature heel handles and gold plated hardware featuring a three-piece mechanical closure and lock. Sneaker drama! Nike executive Ann Hebert today ste Sneaker drama! Nike executive Ann Hebert today stepped down from the company days after a Business Insider story reporting on her 19-year-old son Joe Hebert's sneaker reselling business. It was subsequently reported her son aka @/west.coast.streetwear had used her credit card to purchase the shoes he then resold. 

An internal note from Nike to employees reads: Ann Hebert, VP/GM, North America geography has decided to step down from Nike, effectively immediately. We thank Ann for her more than 25 years with Nike and wish her well.”

Nike employees are not permitted to buy the brand's shoes and resell them at a higher price for profit.

Themed on a mix of female creatives and athletes, additional ambassadors include WNBA star Skylar Diggins-Smith, model Winnie Harlow, actress Lauren London, designer Nicole McLaughlin and fitness expert and LGBTQ rights activist Bethany C. Meyers, among others.

Commenting on the focus on women, rising pop star Lipa, whose single "Electricity" is featured in campaign video, commented, Sharing stories of success is all part of changing the narrative, especially in fields like sports and entertainment that have tended to amplify the accomplishments of men. Women are already nailing it across the board and celebrating their achievements is exciting and empowering.
