We stopped by Axis Show in New York yesterday, to visit accessory label Lace by Tanaya, which was making its first ever appearance at a trade show. The accessory line is designed by Tanaya Henry, who launched the brand in New York City but a few years back moved herself and the brand to Los Angeles, leading the trend for individuals packing up and leaving the Big Apple for its West Coast rival.
We interviewed Henry when she first launched the line in 2009 and was at the same time juggling work as a model, showing up in projects ranging from a Married to the Mob lookbook to playing the love interest in a Miguel video. She still models, but as was the case then, her main focus and passion is the label, which she says is doing well with some exciting collaborations with other jewellery designers in the works.
