While leaked here and there (and famously worn by Rihanna) over the past few months, Puma and Vashtie finally have revealed an official lookbook for their collaborative collection, which launches February 28th [UPDATE: Due to port delays, this launch is delayed until Mid-March. Puma has stocked some items on its website.] According to press, the lookbook and video (music by Princess Nokia ) were inspired by New York City’s golden era for hip music and culture, starting in the mid ’80s and extending through the mid ’90s.
The collection includes key styles from that period including a Suede and T7 style. Both the footwear and accompanying apparel are unisex with black the dominant color though the Suede is offered in a deep burgundy a cousin to Vashtie’s signature color purple. There also is a purpleburgundy mesh top and jacket, plus a metallic gold jacket. Interestingly we are not seeing the lilac and liquid metal silver pairs that were previewed in Spain by Miss Kleckley so we have a hunch there is more to come. The collection will launch at retailers including Rime, Epitome, Bait, Revolveclothing.com and select Puma Lab powered by Foot Locker locations.
