Cara Delevingne Attends Met Gala Wearing Bang Bang Floral Tattoo Art

May 6, 2015. Leave a Comment

For the Met Gala, model Cara Delevingne took a unique approach to the event’s “China: Through the Looking Glass” exhibit by having birds and flower blossoms as influenced by traditional Chinese art hand painted on her body by tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, an outfit addition that elevated the street smart sensibilities of her black Stella McCartney jumpsuit to new heights. Delevingne is not new to Bang Bang’s work, having been inked by him over 12 times, including a lion’s head on her index finger and the word “bacon” inscribed on the bottom of her foot.

With a shop in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Bang Bang has also worked with Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rita Ora. One of the the twists of his practice, is that he will sometimes ask his customer to give him a tattoo in return for theirs, including an umbrella by Rihanna and a peppermint by Perry. The artist is about to publish his first book, titled “Bang Bang: My Like in Ink.” For more information visit bangbangforever.com.

In the show notes, Jacobs included the following quote from Westwood: “Fashion is life-enhancing, and I think it’s a lovely, generous thing to do for other people.”
