Taking a look at Vetements a young label created by a collective of seven designers one can’t help but think of Maison Margiela. In a recent feature on the Business of Fashion all members were revealed as having once been members of the Margiela design team. The result of this collaborative effort is a look made for the woman who loves to make a style statement with a modern take on traditional silhouettes and texture as opposed to ones made through flashy logos. According to a statement made by the group, “We decided to think, firstly, of all of the women we wanted to dress, what their preferences are, what length for a skirt, what kind of tailoring shapes, what colors, what essential garments. We thought of our friends, of real people we know and what they would want to wear.”
