Maison Margiela showed its artisinal collection for Autmn 2015 in Paris, yesterday with head creative John Galliano’s influence continuing to blossom and bloom as the designer further reveals his master level of skill for fabric manipulation. There are different forms of drama–from quiet to loud and Galliano is definitely moving the label in a somewhat more boisterous direction, which is much more complicated and richer than one clear sweeping change and across-the-board statement pieces. It’s a mixing and weaving that at times rings clear as a bell (the bridal look!) but at other times is slyly quiet yet still packs a punch. Clearly this is one story that is literally still unfolding, all told a pleasure to behold.
