MadeMe Immaculate Collection Autumn 2015

August 14, 2015. Leave a Comment

New York label MadeMe has been teasing images of its “Immaculate” collection for Autumn 2015 and today it simultaneously dropped the lookbook and launched it at retail. As designed by Erin Magee, the collection includes the Schott leather jackets she is known for, quilted and wool coats plus long-sleeve tees, crops and wool caps, all of which exude a punky vibe though with modern references and cuts. If you know Magee, you know that Madonna has long been a muse/inspiration, thus the title of the collection, which makes references to the title of the singer’s first greatest hits album called The Immaculate Collection, released in 1990. Visit MadeMe.com to purchase.

Lookbook images below were shot by Natalia Mantini.

Part of his debut collection with the retailer, the men's "giant fit" chino priced at 89.50 is 100% sold out! Relecting the popularity of the silhouette, the women's wide-leg pleated cargo is also sold out.

With wider fits and chino swinging back into popularity, we can't help but wonder what sneakers and shoes will be coming along for the ride. Any nominations?

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.
