UCLA gymnast Sophina DeJesus is lighting on the internet with her recent floor performance, which included nods to hip hop dance moves including the Whip/Nae Nae and Quan. Her team’s first meet of the year, DeJesus received a 9.925 for the performance, tying her for fourth place in the floor exercise category.
Born in San Jose, California, DeJesus is a senior with multiple awards under her belt and her athletic ability combined with charismatic personality has translated into acting gigs on the TV show Hip Hop Harry plus she has also appeared in a Missy Elliott and Disney video and appeared on multiple talk shows including The Ellen Show and Tom Joyner.
