Harlemite singer Teyana Taylor, who is known for her deep appreciation of sneaker culture, has been tapped by Reebok to collaborate on a pair of NBA player Allen Iverson’s signature shoes, “The Question” mid. According to her Instagram, the first shoe will be red and will drop in October, all part of a 20th anniversary celebration of the style. The first woman to collaborate on “The Question” shoe, Taylor hinted at the partnership when she posted an image of herself in a white and blue pair of the shoes a week ago.
Taylor is not new to sneaker collaborations. She famously linked with Adidas in 2013, on a style called Harlem GLC, a women’s shoe that sold out quickly because of its crossover appeal with men. She was on her way to creating a second shoe with Adidas, but in November 2013, the deal was derailed because of bad press that resulted from an online feud she had with Rihanna. Sneaker boutique Packer Shoes through its Ewing brand, tapped her to collaborate on an all gold Ewing 33 high shoe, which also evaporated minutes within hitting retail in April 2015.
In an interview with us back in 2013, Taylor told us that family is her good luck charm so perhaps the tailwinds for the Reebok deal received an extra boost of good fortune with the birth of her adorable baby girl, Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., with fiancé, Iman Shumpert, in December of last year. Check out a recent picture of Iman below, along with Taylor’s other “baby” Basquiat below. For good measure, we added a video of TeTe giving up some of her famous body at a recent nightclub appearance.
