As part of its ongoing sneaker shopping series, Complex magazine brings entrepreneur Amber Rose to resell sneaker boutique Flight Club in New York City, chatting with her about a variety of topics, including the sneakers she wore growing up in Philadelphia, her thoughts on women collaborating with sneaker brands, how she feels about men wearing pink sneakers and her favorite retro Jordan model.
Some quotes from the video:
“I grew up very poor, with a single mom, I actually remember getting made fun of in school because my sneakers were so bad.”
“It was always the Reebok Classics, the 5411s or Filas, and that was about it, I never had Jordans growing up.”
“The [Jordan] 3s are my favorite….these are the best Jordans. I feel like you can wear them with anything and look superfly. These are by far my favorite.”
“I think the Pumas that Rihanna did are sick. I’m definitely looking forward to getting them.”
“I just think guys that wear pink [are] really sexy.”
Rose closes out the video with some purchases, settling on Air Jordan 3 “White Cement,” Foamposite, Air Jordan 7 “Taxi,” Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement,” and for her “boo,” NBA player Terrance Ross, a pair of Air Jordan 7 “Public School”
