High-end sneaker label Buscemi has released a spring 2016 media campaign titled “Permanent Vacation,” a theme the designer, Jon Buscemi, said is based on a permanent state of mind, “an ever evolving commitment to passion, pleasure, taste.” The campaign video and images have a very lux life feel to them, though reflective of the campaign’s title, the ultimate statement of wealth comes when the female model tosses her cell phone in a bowl of ice water. Above and beyond the cost of the phone and all the other high-end items featured in the video (including of course Buscemi sneakers), the bigger message is that the ability to disconnect is the greatest luxury of all, which is somewhat tragic but true.
