Stella McCartney last week revealed plans for a new fragrance called POP, first revealing musician Grimes as the face of the campaign, followed by Lourdes “Lola” Leon, actress Amandla Stenberg and model Kenya Kinski-Jones. The inclusion of Leon has caused the biggest stir, in large part because she is Madonna’s daughter, but also because she’s kept a low profile as a student attending the University of Michigan and this is her first official campaign, making it a coming out party of sorts.
McCartney on Instagram first teased Leon’s announcement with an image of her hands, which are tattooed with the words “Dad” on one hand and “Mom” on the other. When she followed with Leon’s image, McCartney commented, “So happy to have Lola on the POP team! Lola, who I’ve known her entire life, is at the beginning of her career as a performing artist. She’s an independent, inspirational and free-spirited young woman. Despite being born in the spotlight, she has kept her feet firmly on the ground!”
POP will be available as an eau de perfume, body lotion and shower gel at select Stella McCartney stores and StellaMcCartney.com on March 24th. It goes live at Sephora on March 18th and will appear in select retailers globally in July.
