Best known in fashion for her work on Kanye West‘s Yeezy 1-3 presentations, Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft is expanding her fashion horizons, partnering with Valentino to present the label’s “Rockstud Untitled” collection for autumn 2016.
As part of the project, Beercroft assemble 25 men and women (some streetcast, some models and some quasi famous like Emily Mortimer) and created a “human formation” staged at the New York Academy of Art on April 10th. In addition to use for online marketing, film and photography from the event were used to create an in-store installation at Bergdorf Goodmans, which opens today and will be displayed until May 19th.
The collection is unisex and includes a trench, a crewneck sweater, a white shirt and a peacoat, all detailed with gold stud trim and labeled with a number from one to 12 on a canvas satchel in which the garment is packaged. As of today it’s available to purchase at Bergdorf, as well as Valentino’s flagships in Milan, Rome, London and New York City.
