As promised earlier today, Rihanna has released the video for “Needed Me,” as directed by Harmony Korine. It’s the third visual from her ANTI album, which she is currently supporting with a world tour. Korine is known for his appreciation for the seamier side of life and the video has that “Spring Breakers” dark edge, filled as it is with dark lit scenes, strippers and a tatted and gun toting villain, who Rih ultimately offs in cold blood. Don’t get it twisted tho, ultimately it’s a video about removing people from your life that no longer fit and the emotional cost of doing that. Didn’t Rih tell you, she is a savage?
As for style, the shoot was styled by Mel Ottenberg. The first look, a periwinkle negligee shown above, was designed by Rosamosario. The leather jumpsuit is Hood by Air and the boots are by Manolo Blahnik. Both are custom pieces.
