H&M and Kenzo today released the first images from their planned collaboration together, launching on November 3, 2016, at 250 locations globally. Known for its bold take on colors and patterns, not surprisingly the collection features a lot of brightly-colored tiger stripes, a nod to the label’s official mascot.
In a conversation with Vogue, head designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon pointed out the brand is celebrating a milestone, and the collection is in part a celebration of the brand’s rich history, explaining, “Lots of customers only know the side of Kenzo we worked on, but we’re celebrating the brand’s 50th anniversary.”
In a further nod to Kenzo’s history of celebrating inclusivity, the design duo chose to cast with friends and influencers rather than professional models.
