After much to do and multiple well-respected reporters (lol the NYT even) made to look quite silly around confirmed album release dates that came and went with nary a peep, Mr. Frank Ocean has finally released his second studio album, the 17-song strong Blonde (also written as Blond in some places, in other words it’s unisex). You can watch a video for “Nikes’,” the first single on the album below, and also stream the Apple Music snippets.
As part of the album’s release, there were six pop-up shops set up in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and London, all of which played the album and at the same time distributed free copies of Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry publication, which contained a CD copy of Blonde, which is said to contain five fewer songs than the Apple-distributed album.

On his Tumblr feed, Ocean posted some album art and also wrote a note to his followers that read, “I had the time of my life making all of this. Thank you all. Especially those of you who never let me forget I had to finish. Which is basically everyone one of ya’ll. Haha. Love you.”
