Akin to two ugly yet iconic humans marrying and bearing children, Ugg and Teva have joined forces on a two-shoe capsule, with one sandal-like and favoring the dad aka Teva, and one with boot qualities that takes after mother Ugg.
While it would be easy to hate on these odd hybrid shoes, at the same time one has to tip one’s hat at Ugg and Teva’s parent company for going out on a limb in terms of design. And as the brands’ websites declare, the shoes are indeed “striking, comfortable and head-turning.” The copywriter left out that they’re also ugly, a shame because in truth there’s always been a place in fashion for the lovably clunky, a category these shoes most definitely can not just occupy but dominate.
Priced at $175 for the sandal and $225 for the the boot, both are now available for purchase on either ugg.com or teva.com.
