Y/Project’s showed a spring 2017 collection that once again revealed head designer Glenn Martens’ talent for infusing garments with energy with offerings including details like tear-away pants, as well as deconstructed dramatic couture-like ruffles that are as bold as they are artful, yet manage to not be gaudy.
Founded in Paris by Yohan Serfaty in 2010, the Belgian-born Martens helped launched the label and was promoted to head creative when Serfaty passed away unexpectedly in 2013.
Martens’ talent for creating down-to-earth, avant-garde fashion was recognized by LVMH Prize, for which he was among the finalist in 2016, cementing the brand as one to watch.
