It’s been a while since we’ve had a less-than-polite crack from designer Karl Lagerfeld, but he sure stepped up to the plate today, completely blaming Kim Kardashian not only for making it easy for thieves to steal from her, but also for damaging Paris’s already fragile reputation for safety.
“I don’t understand why she was in a hotel with no security and think like that. If you’re that famous and put all your jewelry on the net, you go to hotels where nobody can come near to your room. You cannot display your wealth and be surprised that some people want to share it with you,” commented Lagerfeld following Chanel’s runway presentation, adding for good measure, “Image-wise I think it’s very bad. You make all the efforts to make Paris appealing and then…. Apparently they were from the east, Eastern Europe.”
Lagerfeld’s comments are quite the turn around from two days ago when he was photographed holding a card sympathetic to Kardashian’s plight that read, “Dearest Kim, we are all with you, love, Karl.” That’s fashion for you, one day you’re in and the next your the downfall of an entire city!
