As part of the process for choosing a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, the various designers were tasked with creating an item of clothing using an Intel chip on a design inspired by a personal memory. The designers presented their piece on a model of their choosing and at the same time explained the concept before the judges, who included Anna Wintour and also Jenna Lyons.
Among designer including Adam Selman, Rochambeau and Chloe Gosseling, it was Stampd designer Chris Stamps’ model, Brooklyn rapper Desiigner, who thoroughly stole the show.
Perhaps one of the most charming moments occurred when Desiigner entered there room and without any sign of hesitation or fear, made a point of greeting the famously intimidating Wintour, pointing in her direction and saying,”How you doing, Ms. Wintour?” At the end of the presentation when asked, he gamely recited some bars from “Timmy Turner” thoroughly charming the pants off of everyone in the room in the process.
