Adidas kicked off the opening of its new flagship and largest location globally on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan this week with a opening night party held on Tuesday night. Point blank it’s a gorgeous store whose design theme is themed around the concept of a high school stadium. Within the store, there are multiple fixtures and details referencing the interior of a stadium i.e. a place where athletes prepare before they take the field. The trick is that the stadium seats face the store’s street-side window, setting up the concept of the City serving as the playing field of life (thus the tunnel-esque entrance to the store).
Some of the highlights include New York specific merchandise sold only at the store, a juice bar, a print shop, a shoe customization station (including for the first time UltraBoost), same day hotel delivery service, as well as a track and treadmill for testing new product.
Notable attendees and ambassadors who attended included Karlie Kloss (looking fly in a pair of Rihanna x Manolo thigh-high boots), Desiigner, Joey Badass, Justine Sky, DJ Esco, Dave East, DJ Clark Kent, Madison Beer, Eniko Mihalik, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, among others.
By the by, we heard Kanye West was slated to attend this event, which of course went south when he was hospitalized last week.
The store opened today and is located at 565 Fifth Avenue at 46th Street.
