Fresh off of being recognized as Retailer of the Year, Ronnie Fieg has announced the expansion of Kith brick and mortar with the opening of a new location in South Beach, Miami, a store that marks Kith’s first location outside of New York City. Kith Miami occupies the old location for Atrium, which was also converted over to a Kith location in New York City.
In speaking on the new location, Fieg said, “Miami has always been like a second home to me, and it’s been an important step I’ve wanted the brand to take since our first pop-up there in 2013. This will be our most elevated store design to date, and I believe that we have something to offer the Miami customer that no other retailer can.”
Similar to Kith’s Brooklyn and Manhattan locations, the new venue was designed by Snarkitecture. The store’s interior features what have become Kith store trademarks, including 500 wall-mounted white sneaker casts, which in the new store are taken from a Jordan V silhouette, a reference to Miami’s place as Kith’s fifth brick and mortar location. Like the Brooklyn Kith, the store also includes a Kith Treats ice cream and cereal bar. The design reflects the tropical location of the Miami store via a softer color story expressed through a custom terazzo panel that forms a white to baby blue gradient.
Opening during Art Basel, Kith commissioned Futura to create a piece of art that mirrors an exclusive Nike Air Force 1 shoe Kith released on the store’s opening day. A Kith Miami exclusive, the shoe is a re-issue of the sand and pink Air Force 1 “Linen,” released in Japan in 2001.
Kith Miami is located at 1931 Collins Avenue.
