As promised, Cardi B today released her second mixtape,”Gangsta Bitch Volume 2,” a follow up to her well-received “Gangsta Bitch Volume 1.” Featuring ten tracks, the mixtape reveals that the Bronx rapper skills have grown, as has her access to better production. Cardi also flexed her connection to the Caribbean on the single “Back It Up” featuring contributions from Konshens and Hood Celebrity.
Similar to Volume 1, Cardi B’s rhymes remain rooted in her thoughts on navigating through relationships with men and women, all of which pops because of the rapper’s unapologetic confidence, swagger and endearing charm. Cardi B may have issue with women, though as the cover art illustrates, she ultimately just wants to be respected as a boss by everyone.
Commenting on the mixtape, Cardi told Complex, “My music is for the bitches that got anger in their heart, cause every bitch got motherfucking goddamn anger in their heart.”
