While there have been rumors about abounding, Coachella has laid down the facts with an official announcement for this year’s lineup. The big news of course is that Beyoncé will be headlining, along with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead, but it’s also noteworthy that a festival once known for being less than friendly toward raps acts finally has caught the wave, booking Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane, Tory Lanz and DJ Khaled.
Other noteworthy performers include Australian singer Lorde, who is making her first live appearance other than a charity event since 2014. This should also be a break out performance for Kehlani, who will be supporting her album, SweetSexySavage, currently scheduled for a January 27th release.
Fashion-wise, Coachella is known for its bohemian-flavored outfits though we will be on the lookout for people breaking free from the embroidery and fringe and remain firmly in the camp of team #NoBoho.
Coachella takes place over two weekends, from April 14-16, and April 21-23, with both events at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Tickets (which will sell out) go on sale at 11:00 PST today. More info on Coachella ticketing here.
