Looking at Fear of God’s “Fifth Collection,” the label’s offerings for fall 2017, there isn’t anything that pops out as amazing and yet as always, offerings are immaculate, somehow speaking exactly to the moment. It helps, too, that the products are beautifully styled and shot, showing the powerfully cool appeal of the collection at its highest potential.
Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo is known for taking a humble approach about what he’s trying to accomplish with the line, and in an interview with Vogue, said, “I’m not reinventing anything and I’m not even calling myself a designer.”
He added, “If I was to name a designer I’m inspired by I would probably say Ralph Lauren because his fashion is exactly how he lives in life. I see streetwear where I see myself. The Supreme and Louis Vuitton collaboration is exactly what we are. We are street but luxury and as the kids who grew up wearing street get older they want better quality, better proportions, and better silhouettes. That’s me and that’s my customer.”
While women are shown in the lookbook and the pink satin bomber clearly has a feminine feel, items are still sized for men, though plenty of women can (and will) wear them.
Pre-order for the Fifth Collection begins in March 2017.
