London based Tata Naka pre-fall collection for 2017 has taken on a decidedly femmy edge, though at the same time retains the street-infused, artsy edge the label has become known for. Polka dots are a theme and several of the dresses (especially the one with the tulle skirt) recall Sex in the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw at her most irreverent. Perhaps that’s not too coincidental as the label has made several appearances on the beloved series.
Tata Naka is made up of twin sisters Tamar and Natasha Surguladze, who moved to London from their place of birth in Georgia in 1996. They both attended Central Saint Martins and started up Tata Naka upon graduation in 2000. Tata Naka has been awarded the New Generation award by the London Fashion Council for three of its London Fashion Week collections.
The pre-fall 2017 collection is now available for pre-order on modaoperandi.com.
