A$AP Rocky and all American clothing and accessory label Guess today announced plans for a second collaborative collection. Called “Guess World,” the mix of men’s and women’s items will hit stores on March 10th. Both Opening Ceremony and Black Market will carry the collection.
Offerings are sized for both men and women, and include the Gue$$ logo t-shirt, pink-trimmed denim shorts and cropped jackets plus straight cut and bell-bottom jeans. Prices range $39 for a hat up to $198.
Released in January 2016, the rapper’s first collection with Guess tapped into an archival look themed by black and white stripes, and this one again references the past, but is brighter with the return of the Guess logo reconfigured as Gue$$ and backed by candy-colored stripes.
“The first collection was so well-received, we had an amazing turnout,” said A$AP in an interview with WWD where the news was announced. “People actually understood my reasons for wanting to collaborate on that nostalgic collection. Growing up with an urban hip-hop background, Guess was part of that, in the ‘Menace II Society’ films and in my household. It was my own twist on archival pieces.”
As for criticism Rocky has received as of late that he’s doing too much with fashion and not enough with music, the Harlem rapper said everything is not as it seems. “I know I seem all Zoolander with my shit right now but I’m in the studio every night,” said Rocky. “I have two projects right now, and with visuals and installations I’m always very hands-on.”
