London-based artist Mabel McVey has released the upbeat “Finders Keepers,” a single and video featuring up-and-coming U.K. MC Kojo Funds. A groovy tune with samples from Lumidee’s “Uh Oh,” Mabel’s vocals are smooth and dreamy.
It’s often noted that McKey’s mother is Neneh Cherry and her father is Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey, a background that is not only musical, but also ethnically diverse. “I’m English, Swedish and Sierra Leonean, and it was important for me to begin to explore my mixed roots musically,” the artist explained in a press statement.
Mabel’s “Bedroom” EP drops on May 26, 2017, and is available for pre-order in iTunes.
