Anchored on the colors orange and black, Married To the Mob drops the first delivery of its spring 2017 assortment. Statement t-shirts include “Done With You,” as well as “Cake & Destroy,” a design challenged by some streetwear newbies, who called it out as a copy of Thrasher’s “Skate & Destroy” motto. “I grew up in the ’90s immersed in skate culture and this is called a parody or an homage. Respect my gangster,” said label founder Leah McSweeney in response to the push back.
The assortment also features leggings, hoodies and a bomber that pays tribute to playmate Anna Nicole Smith with an “I hate men” entry from her diary. Spring also rings in the introduction of new sizing to fit a wider range of body types.
