As part of MoMa‘s Pop Rally events, which promote art world diversity, fashion photographer Petra Collins collaborated with artist Madelyne Beckles to curate a mixed media presentation titled “In Search of Us,” presented at the Manhattan museum on March 18, 2017.
In addition to a performance art piece by Monica Hernandez, Kalena Yiaueki and Samira Alfarius, who danced, hung out and took selfies on on a set designed by Samira Alfarius, the event include a performance by Brooklyn rapper Jungle Pussy and videos by Grace Miceli and Aleia Murawski, both members of Art Baby, a female art collective. (Read more about the themes of the event at Dazed.)
Because of Collins’ fashion world connections, the costumes worn by the performers plus the attendees drew from the fashion world. Designers Adam Selman, Mel Ottenberg and Pamela Love were there, as was Vogue editor, Chioma Nnadi. And that’s who we recognized. Of course Collins was in attendance as well.
Check out some images of the performances as well as the super stylish attendees below.
