Calvin Klein takes a different direction for its spring 2017 underwear campaign, shifting from a youth obsessed angle to one that embrace’s women of all ages, specifically ranging form 18 to 73.
The New York brand tapped talented director Sofia Coppola, who shot short, black and white videos of Kirsten Dunst, Lauren Hutton, Rashida Jones, Nathalia Love, Laura Harrier, Maya Thurman-Hawke (daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) and Chase Sui Wonders (niece of Anna Sui).
In the vignettes, the women touch on short, memorable moments from their lives. Dunst, for example, speaks of the impact of being told her teeth were attractive by Sofia Coppola, and Hutton recalls being hit on as a young woman by a man driving a truck. Jones tells a hilarious story of tracking down a crush using her beeper. For an advertisement, many of them are surprisingly sweet and touching.
