Cardi B Visits Tim Westwood Who Provides Tutorial On How Not To Interview A Female Artist

Bronx rapper Cardi B headed to the United Kingdom to do a few concert stops, and made the obligatory stop at hip-hop DJ Tim Westwood‘s program, an event that consisted of 30 cringe-worthy minutes of him quizzing Cardi (real name Belcalis Almánzar) about everything except her music.

Westwood delved into Cardi’s hair, nails, role on “Love and Hip Hop New York,” as well as digging into her relationship history and days as a stripper. Incredibly, Westwood dedicated less than 30 seconds of the interview to her music and never once asked about her process, much less what her recording plans are.

The interview kicked off with Westwood asking her about her lace front (rude!!), and even when Cardi responded with hesitancy, he continued to batter her with questions about her favorite types of weaves, letting it be known he had great expertise on the topic.

He then asked her about her future on “Love and Hip Hop NY,” a show she has stated in multiple interviews she’s finished with.

At 09:15 he finally brought up music, but the question quickly turned into a super cringe description about where he listens to her single “Lick.” He then pressed her on her relationship with Offset (real name Kiari Cephus), and after predicting their relationship would be a lasting one, pivoted into talk about Tommy, an ex-boyfriend she has stated she is no longer dating on many occasions.

Layering on the bad questions, Westwood attempted to back Cardi into revealing the number of men she’s slept with (you tried it, Tim!), followed by what types of women she likes and also what skin color turns her on the most. “How dark is dark?” asked Westwood, who noted he was disappointed that Cardi isn’t attracted to white males.

Props to Westwood because he showed a modicum of control by waiting until 23:40 to start grilling her about her days stripping, a job she ended when she became a rapper. He ended the interview by asking Cardi to provide relationship advice.

Proving she actually is a saint as well as a true professional, Cardi remained amiable and played along the entire interview.

Check out Cardi’s exchange with Westwood below.

For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runwa For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runway show and present their collection in a styled lookbook.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."

Rapper JT shared that she's hooked on the song, especially the "Lulu" verse.

To witness an athletic apparel brand being name-dropped in hip-hop by emerging women rappers highlights how much women love their fitness/athleisure wear but also the fact that there is a flex that comes with wearing Lululemon in certain circles.

Male rappers Jbeezy.Lfg and Lil Scoom89
